A Letter from Our Founder

My mom always told me to be kind to people. “You never know what they have going on in their life.”

When I was younger I didn’t really understand how true that was. I’ve thought about it a lot while building NeverGone. We know so little about what other people are carrying, and sometimes we think we know someone better than we do.

For years I had a friend whose beliefs I just couldn’t understand. He’s a successful attorney. Our views were so far apart that I honestly thought he’d lost it.

Then I took the time to really listen to his story. His beliefs hadn’t changed. I just knew more about the person behind them.

That experience has stayed with me. Knowing someone’s opinion is not the same as understanding how they came to it. You don’t have to agree with them, but hearing their story can change how you see them. That’s part of why I’m building NeverGone.

We spend a lifetime becoming ourselves. Our relationships change us. We make mistakes and learn things the hard way. Even the people closest to us may know only part of the story. I want to help us get to know each other better and preserve more of who we are.

On NeverGone, your stories, memories, and conversations shape a living Persona that grows with you. It gives the people you choose a way to know you more deeply.

The people closest to you remember things you don’t. Maybe something you said years ago meant more to them than you ever knew. They can share those memories, too. Part of who you are lives in the difference you’ve made to other people.

Your parents had lives before you were born. Your oldest friend still has stories you haven’t heard. There’s so much we never get around to asking. Our time here is limited, and we shouldn’t keep putting those conversations off.

What we share now can also mean something to our children and the generations after them. They can know more about how we lived, what we learned, and who we were. I want NeverGone to give them that chance.

Over the past three years, we’ve taken NeverGone from a simple idea to something real. We’ve poured more into it and made more sacrifices than I care to share. We kept going because we set out to build something that matters.

My hope is simple: that NeverGone means something to you. And that you truly love it.
